• Spring Classes at City College begin on January 19th

• The last day to ADD a course is Friday, February 5th

• The last day to DROP a course is Thursday, February 11th

• The last day to request Pass/No Pass grading is Monday, February 22nd

• Final exam schedule: your final exams may not be given at the same time as you

have been attending class all semester! Once you have your syllabus, check when

your finals will take place.

How will I know when I am enrolled?

• After January 12th, you may or may not receive an email from CCSF letting you

know that you have been enrolled.

• Some students will be pre-registered in classes in which we have set aside seats.

• ***Regardless of whether or not you are pre-registered you should plan to attend

the first meeting of your selected classes.

• If you are not pre-registered you will need to talk to the instructor and ADD the

class.

How to ADD a class

• Complete a Special H.S. ADD/DROP form, with your student id# on it.

• Submit the form to Admissions and Records in Conlan Hall 107

• *The class you are adding must be listed on your principal consent form. If it is

not you will need to submit a new principal consent form to Admissions and

Records.

How to DROP a class

• Please do not just stop attending classes, without formally dropping or

withdrawing from the course. Doing so will result in you getting an “F”.

• If you are struggling to keep up or can no longer make the class meetings contact

me immediately.

Suggestions for the First Day of Class

• If you know that you will be unable to attend classes the first day of class, call or

email the instructor directly to notify them. Some instructors will drop a student

from their class if they are not present the first day of class.

• Ask questions.

Listserv

• Please make sure that you are receiving emails from the “Concurrent Enrollment”

listserv.

• If you do not receive a message from the listserv by January 19th, please email

skorey@ccsf.edu to be have your email address added.

Textbooks

• Textbooks for the courses listed in our “Spring 2010 Program of Study” will be

loaned to you. *Non-academy/pathway course textbooks are not available and

you are responsible for purchasing them.

• It is our goal that everyone will have their textbooks by the second week of class.

• Please read upcoming listserv messages to see how you can get your book.

• Please note: The textbooks may not be the latest edition, page numbers may be

off.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Can I enroll in more than one class?

+ If you have a 2.0 GPA and have completed more than 120 high school credits, you can

enroll in a maximum of 3 units.

+ If you have a 2.0 GPA and have completed 204 high school credits, you can enroll in a

maximum of 6 units.

• Will I get high school credit for the classes I take at City College?

+ You will receive college credit for coursework taken at CCSF. Your high school will

determine whether or not to give you high school credit for your CCSF course(s), check

with your high school counselor.

Placement Tests

• The purpose of the placement tests is to inform you of the best level to begin your

college studies in Math and English.

• Have you already taken the CCSF Math and English placement test?

+ If you have, you can pick up a copy of your results in Conlan Hall 203.

+ If you haven’t, you will need to take it as soon as possible. Please email Valerie for a

testing schedule.

Using your placement test scores

• If you were to begin your college education at City College the levels of English

and Math you placed into are where you would begin.

Recommendations for High School seniors:

• Identify the areas where you could strengthen your skills

• Discuss your results with your school counselor and/or English and Math

teachers.
